Photos, Videos, Set List Recap Of Dead’s “Fare Thee Well” Chicago Shows

This past holiday weekend wasn’t just reserved for fireworks and BBQ; it also served as the highly anticipated 50th anniversary “Fare Thee Well” shows featuring the surviving members of the Grateful Dead at Chicago’s Soldier Field.

Per The Chicago Tribune, The Dead, along with Trey Anastasio, Bruce Hornsby and Jeff Chimenti set attendance records at Soldier Field by performing to more than 210,000 people combined over the three shows. Of course, if you couldn’t make it to Chicago, that wasn’t a problem.  All three shows had unprecedented coverage via live Internet streams, as well as PPV access, which helped create various viewing parties the world over.

Check out the photo gallery below of Deadheads hanging out in the Soldier Field parking lot, along with the set lists for all three nights.  We even gathered some tweets and videos from the historic shows, including the Empire State Building light show set to “U.S. Blues”!
