As we draw closer and closer to 2015’s end, we’d like to look back at some of the year’s best quotes. From funny to hopeful, here’s are some of the best classic rock sound bites of 2015:
David Lee Roth – “This hamburger don’t need no helper.”
DLR was asked whether Van Halen would be playing any Sammy Hagar-era songs on their North American tour. This was his response.
Sammy Hagar – You know, sometimes the guy says the wackiest things. But there’s a lot of truth in that. A quality issue — you think about that. Think about them with Diamond, singing this next song, it would definitely be a quality issue, OK? [Chuckles.] It would definitely be a quality issue.”
Of course Sammy had a response to Dave! What kind of world would it be if he didn’t?
Russian State Duma member Alexander Starovoitov - "In 2014, tracks by U2 were uploaded in a viral way to my Music folder in iTunes, with the album cover featuring what I believe to be two men engaged in a manifestation of non-traditional sexual relations."
This beauty surfaced in April 2015. Also, the album cover was of drummer Larry Mullen Jr. embracing his son. Geez…get your facts straight, Russia!
Keith Richards – “I’ll give them a straw.”
When asked about what his kids should do with his ashes, this was Keith’s response. Have we mentioned how much we love Mr. Richards lately?
Neal Schon – “The door has always been open”
Ever since Steve Perry came returned to the stage after a 17 year absence, many have wondered if he’d ever return to Journey. Schon gave fans hope with this quote in a July 2015 interview with ABC News Radio.
Erica Banas is a rock/classic rock reporter who never leaves home without her iPod, because to her, there’s something very comforting about carrying around every piece of music she’s ever owned in her life.
