Ren And Stimpy Get Ghosted By Paramount Pictures For Stand-Alone Film

We were so looking forward to this... But now... We weep.

For those of us who were super excited about the Nickelodeon crossover film from Jared Hess, we've just found out through Consequence of Sound that Ren & Stimpy were denied by Paramount Pictures. They share that the movie will continue with Doug, Rugrats, Ahh! Real Monsters, and more, but Ren & Stimpy got left out.

According to their quote from Screen Geek, this is due to the fact that Ren & Stimpy Adult Party stunk so bad and was killed after 5 episodes, so that's why they want nothing to do with Ren & Stimpy.

Bob Camp, the show's co-creator is quoted saying the following:

“We actually pitched a Ren and Stimpy movie to Paramount, they wanted nothing to do with it. [Adult Party Cartoon] poisoned the well. I think it really left a sour taste in everyone’s mouth. I had nothing to do with that one. And now, someone [at Paramount] doesn’t want anything to do with Ren and Stimpy.”

Well, that's depressing.
