Journey keyboardist Jonathan Cain's interview with the Dayton Daily News has Journey fans rejoicing about Steve Perry's role in their Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction.
During his interview, Cain was asked about how he and the band felt about being inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame on April 7. Cain said that one of the reasons he was so excited about the induction was that it would be a chance to reconnect with Steve Perry.
“The ceremony is the first time we’re going to get to see Steve Perry in a long time,” said Cain. “So that’ll be fun.”
Cain followed that up with “As far as we know, he’s just going to accept the award and then skedaddle. That’s all I know, unless something changes.”
While Perry hasn't committed to performing with the band and current singer Arnel Pineda, if the vibes are right, it could happen. Fans on the East Coast are hoping that Perry's interactions with the band spur him to join them at CLASSIC EAST the two day festival (July 29 + 30) at Citi Field that features Fleetwood Mac, The Eagles, Journey, Steely Dan, Doobie Brothers and Earth, Wind and Fire.
