ICYMI: Sammy Hagar Announces New Tour Dates

Sammy Hagar has added a second leg of dates with The Circle, his touring band that includes former Van Halen bassist Michael Anthony, Jason Bonham on drums and guitarist Vic Johnson from Hagar's other band, the Wabos.

The group -- will play material from throughout Hagar's career as well as Led Zeppelin covers -- had already announced an 11-date run starting June 2 in Thackerville, Okla.; Now comes word of another dozen dates running from September 10 in San Bernardino, Calif., to September 30 in Maryland Heights, Mo.

Hagar tells us that The Circle has essentially replaced the Wabos as his band of choice on the road these days:

"The Circle is my touring band when I play shows...The set list is so good. It's just fun. It's exactly what I do in Cabo when people come out and jam with me. That's what we do in The Circle; We go out and play some Led Zeppelin, some Van Halen, some Sammy Hagar, some Montrose, Chickenfoot. You can't beat that set list. So that's my favorite kind of go-play band."

Hagar recently released a new compilation with Chickenfoot that features a new song, but that group has no plans to reunite at the moment.
