He's been known as a lot of things -- the Cute One, Macca, the Fireman, a Knight of the British Order. Now he's Paul the Pirate.
Paul McCartney has posted a photo of himself in character for the new Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, which comes out May 25.
McCartney, who's friendly with "Pirates" star Johnny Depp (and guested on Depp's all-star Hollywood Vampires project last year), follows in the footsteps of the Rolling Stones' Keith Richards, who's played the father of Depp's Capt. Jack Sparrow in previous "Pirates" films; There's no word on who McCartney plays in the movie, but his scene was added later, after principle photography was done.
McCartney starred in the 1984 screen musical Give My Regards To Broad Street, which he also wrote the script and soundtrack for. He begins a U.S. tour on July 5 in Miami.
