Honor a hero on this special day when blood drives around the region will pay tribute to fallen Philadelphia firefighter Cpt. Matthew LeTourneau, who died in the line of duty in January. For every pint of blood collected, a donation will be made to the Philadelphia 2nd Alarmers Association, which provides support to first responders during disasters. Donors outside the area can participate by posting a photo of themselves donating blood using the hashtag #GiveBloodToHonorMatt.
Cpt. LeTourneau was a longtime blood donor and supporter of the Carol H. Axelrod Memorial Blood Drive, which is spearheading the tribute campaign with a blood drive in Radnor Township. Schedule a donation appointment for this drive at www.chablooddrive.org, or for any area blood drive at www.redcrossblood.org or 1-800-RED-CROSS. We are working toward a record-breaking day of blood donations as we honor Cpt. LeTourneau’s courage, kindness, and unwavering commitment to saving lives!
