WATCH: Grateful Dead Doc Trailer Surfaces

More than two weeks in front of its release, a two-and-a-half minute trailer for the Grateful Dead documentary "Long Strange Trip" has surfaced.

The four-hour film -- directed by Amir Bar-Lev and executive produced by Martin Scorsese -- begins streaming June 2 on Amazon Prime after a brief run in theaters starting May 26.

The trailer shows a variety of vintage footage, photos and interview snippets with band and organization members as well as fans. A companion soundtrack album is also due out on May 26.

The Dead, meanwhile, has two albums in the Top 15 of the Billboard 200 this week; "Cornell 5/8/77" debuted at No. 10 while the 11-disc box set "Get Shown The Light" bowed at No. 15, the Dead's best chart showing in 30 years.

The Dead & Company spin-off band begins its next U.S. tour on May 27 in Las Vegas.
