Joe Walsh Talks The Future of The Eagles Performing Live
After a triumphant return to the stage at its Classic West show on July 15 in Los Angeles, it appears the Eagles will continue to fly.
It was the group’s first full concert since co-founder Glenn Frey passed away during January of 2016 and featured Frey’s son Deacon and Vince Gill in his place; After rave reviews the Eagles are gearing up to play a Classic East show this Saturday (July 29) and have scheduled a Classic NW with the Doobie Brothers for September 30 in Seattle.
Guitarist Joe Walsh tells us that the group is proceeding slowly but optimistically from here:
“We’re not booking a huge tour and saying, ‘Hey, we’re back!’ and all that. We’re very cautiously trying to get an environment where it will work and people can come and we can play our music and continue to keep going, and based on Los Angeles we’ve got a real nibble here and so we’re just gonna take it slow and make sure it’s the highest amount of quality and production, and that’s where we’re at with it at this point.”
In addition to the Eagles dates Walsh will play a three-show residency at the Las Vegas House of Blues during September and he’ll host the first VetsAid benefit concert on September 20 in Fairfax, Va., with the Zac Brown Band, Keith Urban and Gary Clark Jr. to launch his VetsAid non-profit for military veterans and their families.
