Stones News Round-Up: ‘Satanic Majesties’ 50th Anniversary, New Mick Jagger Tracks
Lots of news to tackle in the Rolling Stones world today!
First up, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Their Satanic Majesties Request, the Stones will be rolling out a CD/Vinyl reissue of the album via ABKCO Records. Check out the unboxing video below to view it in all its majestic glory.
The Satanic Majesties reissue is due out September 22 and is currently available for pre-order on Amazon and UDiscoverMusic.com.
Another big development comes via Mick Jagger, who dropped two new solo tracks himself recently. “Gotta Get A Grip” and “England Lost” can be heard below.
As to why he suddenly released two new solo tracks, Jagger gave his reasons in the following statement: “I started writing these two songs in April and wanted them out straight away. Doing a whole album often takes a long time even after finishing it with all the record company preparations and global release set up. It’s always refreshing to get creative in a different fashion and I feel a slight throwback to a time when you could be a bit more free and easy by recording on the hoof and putting it out there immediately. I didn’t want to wait until next year when these two tracks might lose any impact and mean nothing.”
Both “Get A Grip” and “England Lost” can be found on multiple digital and streaming platforms.
