Jeff Beck 50th Anniversary Set Due Out October 6
Guitar legend Jeff Beck will be sharing his 50th anniversary celebration on October 6 when he releases Jeff Beck: Live At The Hollywood Bowl on CD, vinyl and home video.
The collection captures Beck’s August 11, 2016 show at the Hollywood Bowl where he commemorated the 50th anniversary of his professional career with a show that included guest appearances by Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler, ZZ Top’s Billy Gibbons, tour mate Buddy Guy, former collaborator Jan Hammer, Beth Hart and Jimmy Hall, as well as a tribute to Prince with a rendition of “Purple Rain.”
Beck — who also released a new album, Loud Hailer, in 2016 — told us before the show last year that he was humbled by having reached this juncture of his career:
“I mean, it’s 50 years, so it will be, how should I say, many of the big moments in my career linked together, hopefully…When I’m at the airport it’s 500 years, but most of the time it’s in a flash. Fifty years ago? Who’s that they’re talkin’ about? Because in my head I was one of those guys who loved it at 18 and wasn’t going to have anyone remove it from my head. So I look through most of my windows as an 18-21-year-old…It was a good time.”
Live At The Hollywood Bowl is available for pre-order via PledgeMusic.
