WATCH: Patti Smith Performs “People Have The Power” on ‘The Tonight Show’
NEW YORK, NY - MARCH 16: (Editors Note: Image has been converted to black & white) Musician Patti Smith performs at the Tibet House US 30th Anniversary Benefit Concert & Gala Celebrating Philip Glass's 80th Birthday on March 16, 2017 in New York City.
Patti Smith is just popping up everywhere these days…and we LOVE it!
After showing up to perform with U2 at their recent show in Detroit, Smith stopped by The Tonight Show last night (September 12) to promote an upcoming performance at a tribute concert in New York City in honor of her late husband MC5’s Fred “Sonic” Smith.
She performed a stripped down, moving rendition of “People Have The Power” off her 1988 album Dream of Life and was joined by her son, Jackson, on guitar and daughter, Jesse, on the keyboard.
In case this performance couldn’t get any cooler, The Roots’ Questlove joined in on drums.
