Joe Satriani is never not busy.

The guitarist is currently on the road with the G3 2018 tour along with Dream Theater’s John Petrucci and Def Leppard’s Phil Collen, but many are wondering what is going on with Chickenfoot, his supergroup with Sammy Hagar, Michael Anthony and Chad Smith.

WRIF’s Meltdown spoke with Joe Satriani recently, and he had this update:

“I think all of us…I should say when I say ‘all of us,’ I mean myself and Chad and Mike, we’re trying to convince Sammy to spend some time working on making some new songs with us.  I think he wants to do it, but he’s too busy having a good time with all his other stuff.  We just have to go in there and see in his datebook if he’s got some sessions ahead of him.  So, maybe this summer.  It looks like all of us are going to have a little time this summer, so we’re going to try and see if we can get into the studio then.”
