Driven By Adventure & Curosity – Troegs Independent Brewing
Founded in Pennsylvania in 1996 by brothers John and Chris Trogner, Tröegs Independent Brewing is driven by a sense of adventure and curiosity. They’re known for beers like Mad Elf, Nugget Nectar and Perpetual IPA as well as for their highly regarded brewery tour.
You’ll find Troegs Independent Brewing at our upcoming MGK Locals Only Beer Festival on April 21 at Independence Seaport Museum. Tickets are on sale now and selling fast.
We’ll be highlighting each brewery participating in our event on wmgk.com with our Locals Only Spotlight feature. You’ll get a feel for what drives them to make delicious craft beer and most importantly what tasty offerings they’ll be serving up on April 21.
What They’re Serving
Perpetual IPA – 7.5% ABV
At Tröegs, artisanal meets mechanical in a state of IPA we call Perpetual. Cycling through our HopBack vessel and dry-hopping method, this bold Imperial Pale Ale emerges rife with sticky citrus rind, pine balm and tropical fruit.
Scratch Witbier – 5.2% ABV
Scratch Witbier is born at the crossroads of malted wheat and coriander, then driven in new directions by a bounty of orange peel, lemon peel and dried spices. Tag along for a soft floral aroma, spirited citrus notes and a pop of pink peppercorn.
The Recipe For Creative & Great Tasting Beers
From the beginning, the brewery has been built by family, friends and kindred spirits who share a love of great beer.
“We’re not an English ale brewery,” says co-founder Chris Trogner. “And we’re not a German lager brewery. We take bits and pieces from each one of those traditions and try to come up with what we think is a very creative and great-tasting beer.”
They’re widely known for award-winning beers like Perpetual IPA, Troegenator, Nugget Nectar and Mad Elf, as well as their experimental Scratch Series, wood-aged Splinter Series and Hop Cycle Seasonals.
When Art & Beer Collide
The annual Art of Tröegs contest showcases our love of art by challenging fans to reuse packaging in an original work. The deadline for this year’s contest is April 29.
Top 5 Brewery Tour In The US
In 2011, we built our dream brewery in Hershey, PA. We like to think of our little corner of the beer world as the “wayward home for the perpetually curious,” and more than half a million people come through our doors every year. Our brewery tour was named among the five best in the United States by USA Today. You can tour the facilities seven days a week.
“We’re drawn to people with a sense of adventure,” says co-founder John Trogner. “And we think they’re drawn to Tröegs.”
