Alex Was Supposed To Play Guitar, Edddie Drums
Originally Alex was learning guitar, while Eddie was taking up the drums. Eventually, both brothers switched instruments
Alex Is An Ordained Minsiter
Alex quit alcohol cold turkey in 1987. Since then, he became an ordained minsiter. He even presided over his brother Eddie's marriage in 2009.
Alex Has Never Played On Any Record Without A Van Halen
While Eddie has played on a variety of other artist's albums, including Michael Jackson's, Alex has only played on records featuring a Van Halen. He's only played on Van Halen albums and 1 track on the 'Twister' soundtrack. That track was a song he did with brother, Eddie.
Alex's Dad Is A Jazz Musician
Alex didn't come to the US until he was 9 years old. He was born in Holland. His dad was a jazz musician. He actually plays on 'Big Bad Bill' a tune from Van Halen's 'Diver Down' record.
