You Gotta See This

Instagram is going all in on video.

If you’ve been on Instagram for at least the last five years, you know when they added the video feature things got a little crazy. At first, you could upload a video up to fifteen seconds, then in 2016, they allowed videos up to a minute long.

Now Instagram is talking about allowing videos to up to an hour long, yes an hour.

According to The Wall Street Journal, Instagram has had meetings with content creators about the possible new feature and looks to focus on vertical video rather than horizontal like YouTube.

With YouTube recently passing Facebook as the most used social network among American teenagers, this move makes perfect sense.

Mark Zuckerberg has been quoted as saying, “We’re entering this new golden age of video. I wouldn’t be surprised if you fast-forward five years and most of the content that people see on Facebook and are sharing on a day-to-day basis is video.”

The social media guru has been right on just about every one of his decisions regarding the social media platform and we expect this move to be another one of those.

Are you excited about Instagram’s newest feature?
