Considering some of the stories we know about rock bands in the ‘60s, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that a few rock stars fathered a child they didn’t know about, but imagine discovering you had three additional children you didn’t know about.

Roger Daltrey opened about this very situation in an interview with U.K.’s Mirror.  The Who frontman, who already had five children, learned he had three additional daughters shortly after his 50th birthday.  All three daughters were put up for adoption and were born after his divorce from first wife Jackie Rickman in 1968 and before he married his current wife, Heather Taylor, in 1971.

While Daltrey felt “sadness imagining their mums giving them away,” he was thrilled when he learned he had three more daughters and said, “It was great – it’s all worked out.  They stay in touch and they’re close, so that’s great. I’ve tried to do my best about a situation that couldn’t change because it happened a long time ago.”

Kudos to Daltrey for being so welcoming (and his wife for being so understanding) in a situation like this.  Makes you wonder how many other rock star children are out there in the world…
