Burger King’s #EatLikeAndy ad brought some much-needed weirdness to a Super Bowl that, for the most part, was rather dull.

The 45-second spot features Andy Warhol unwrapping and eating a Whopper.  Per Ad Age, the footage is part of a 4:38 clip called “Andy Warhol Eating a Hamburger” directed by JØrgen Leth. The clip was originally featured in Leth’s 1982 film 66 Scenes from America.  (Burger King also has the full version of the clip on their YouTube page.)

Burger King global chief marketing officer Fernando Machado told Ad Age, “I wish we could put four minutes and 20 seconds in the Super Bowl, but that would probably get us all fired, because we would be paying for it for 10 years to come.”

If you have to get fired, you may as well go big.  I think Warhol would respect that.
