The New Horizons probe passed Ultima Thule, an object located a billon miles beyond Pluto.
The Queen guitarist shared what he said is “perhaps the shortest full-length movie in the world” showing the New Horizons flyby which is accompanied by a portion of his track, New Horizons.
May has a Ph.D. in astrophysics, and joined the New Horizons team in 2015, serving as one of the team's stereo image experts according to NASA.
May will release New Horizons as a 12-inch single on Record Store Day, April 13.
