Today its MOON-TIME Nuggets!
Tomorrow marks the 50th anniversary of the moon landing and today we celebrate musically with MOONTIME Nuggets! I’m taking your requests at 215-263-WMGK, via texting at MGKMGK or shoot me an email at [email protected]. We were living in California in July 1969. My Dad was in the Air Force and involved in several space related top secret projects. We took this pretty seriously. I remember watching the TV coverage and then going outside and looking up at the moon and SWEARING that I could see Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin walking around up there. My dad took pictures of the moon and it looked so far away but watching it on TV brought it into all our homes. It was a tremendous feeling of community and sharing a major moment for our country.
As you may know, I’m into stained glass and I found this story about the moon rock embedded in the Washington National Cathedral to be fascinating.
