Too often, the need for a selfie seems to supersede the need for common sense. Need proof? Meet Jamie Bisceglia of Tacoma, Washington, who met up with some fishermen who’d reeled in an octopus. Hearing an Insta opportunity knocking, Jamie decided it’d be a hoot get a snap with the mollusk attached to her face. The problem? She didn’t take into account the fact that they have beaks that shoot venom – and they’re sharp! Between the intense pain, profuse bleeding, antibiotics and swelling that could last months, she says she’s learned a valuable lesson about doing stupid stuff for the ‘gram.
