Metallica Launch New Website with Mysterious Countdown Clock

Metallica has launched a new website featuring a countdown clock leading many to speculate they have a big announcement planned.

The band shared via their Facebook and Twitter pages the website MetallicaXX.com that features a countdown clock set to expire at 12 PM EDT on Thursday, October 10.

What exactly Metallica is counting down to is anyone’s guess, but fans in social media comment sections have pointed out that the 20th anniversary of Metallica’s first S&M show with the San Francisco Symphony is this November. Considering XX is the roman numeral for 20 and Metallica: S&M2 will be hitting theaters on October 9, those fans might be on to something. Of course, we’ll all find out what Metallica has planned on October 10.
