James Hetfield’s birthday is today (August 3), and what better way to celebrate Papa Het than by looking back on one of Metallica’s biggest performances in recent years.

Metallica was tapped as one of the headliners for the 2015 installment of Lollapalooza along with Paul McCartney and Florence and the Machine. The metal icons closed out the second day of the three-day festival that year and delivered one of the most memorable performances in the Lollapalooza history.

The set was so memorable, it was included in this year’s Lolla2020, a four-day livestream looking back on some of the festival’s biggest moments that was scheduled in lieu of an actual Lollapalooza festival. (No need to explain why there wasn’t a Lollapalooza this year.)

Embedded below is Metallica’s marathon performances of “Master of Puppets” and “Seek and Destroy.” Fingers crossed that this time next year, we’ll be able to experience epic performances like this live and in person.
