Metallica’s ‘Black Album’ Re-Enters the Billboard 200 Album Chart
Metallica and their 1991 self-titled album affectionately known as “The Black Album” celebrates its 29th anniversary today (August 12), and it continues to be some kind of monster on the Billboard 200 album chart.
The latest edition of Billboard 200 album chart has been released, and it features “The Black Album” back on the chart at number 200 after moving 6,000 units. Per Chart Data, Metallica is the 4th longest-charting album in Billboard’s history and the best-selling album of the Nielsen era.
Fun fact: The three albums that have charted longer than Metallica are Journey’s Greatest Hits (628 weeks), Bob Marley and the Wailers’ Legend (638 weeks) and Pink Floyd’s The Dark Side of the Moon (950 weeks.) You can thank me later when this helps you win a free beer at your next game of bar trivia, whenever that’s going be. Boy, do I miss drinking in public!
