Metallica Becomes First Rock Act to Accomplish This Billboard Chart Stat
Metallica just continues to prove its longevity and power on the Billboard rock charts.
Billboard reports that Metallica’s “All Within My Hands” from their new live album with the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra, S&M2, will be number one on the latest installment of the Mainstream Rock Songs chart, which is determined solely on radio airplay. With this number one, Metallica now becomes the first band to score number one songs on the Mainstream Rock Songs chart in four different decades: The ’90s, ’00s, ’10s and ’20s.
In total, Metallica has ten different songs that have topped the Mainstream Rock Songs chart in the past four decades: “Until It Sleeps”; “Hero Of The Day”; “Turn The Page”; “No Leaf Clover”; “I Disappear”; “The Day That Never Comes”; “Cyanide”; “Hardwired”; “Atlas, Rise!”; and “All Within My Hands.”
