That special performance took place in September of 1993 Los Angeles' Club Lingerie. Some soundboard audio of the performance has made its way online, recently appearing via Louder Sound, and now, it's here for your enjoyment.
The performance was for a benefit show, Rock Against Rape, with the two rocking Nirvana's In Utero song "Pennyroyal Tea," with Love singing lead. The second cover was of Leadbelly's "Where Did You Sleep Last Night?" The performance came just two months before Nirvana's famed MTV Unplugged set.
"Watch closely. This is the first and last time you'll see this happen," Love says to the audience regarding the two performing together. Sadly, she was right. Cobain passed away at the age of 27 on April 5, 1994.
