Alaska Airlines Created A Hilarious ‘Safety Dance’ Video About Flying During Pandemic
Alaska Airlines has found a creative yet informative way to give customers information about flying on their planes.
They shared the video on YouTube, saying, “At Alaska, we love safety so much, our employees made a music video about it. Watch the #AlaskaSafetyDance and find out how to safely get back out there in spring and summer 2021. Book now. Mask up. Let’s go.”
The Safety Dance clip showed flight attendants singing a song set to the tune of 1982’s “Safety Dance” by Men Without Hats. They changed the lyrics to say things like “We can fly where you want to. We can leave your house behind” and “But if your friends don’t mask and why don’t they mask, well they won’t fly this airline.”
In an Alaska Airlines blog, they explain that the “Safety Dance” was directed by Warren Fu, who has worked with artists like Dua Lipa, The Weeknd, Daft Punk, and HAIM. The video was also choreographed by Anna Matuszewski, who has worked with Macklemore.
The blog also shows fun photos of employees practicing choreography and preparing for the video. The company adds that, of course, crew followed strict safety measures to keep everyone safe.
