Tawny Kitaen, the actress best known for appearing in classic Whitesnake videos, has died. She was 59.

News of Kitaen’s death began to spread on Twitter last night, but no outlet had confirmation until this morning when TMZ reported she died in Newport Beach Friday night (May 7.) A cause of death was not yet determined by the coroner.

Kitaen’s acting credits include 1984 films Bachelor Party and Gwendoline and numerous television credits including Santa Barbara, The New WKRP in Cincinnati, Eek! The Cat, Hercules: The Legendary Journeys and Moms Anonymous.

Kitaen’s fame reached new levels when she appeared in a number of popular music video starting with Ratt’s “Back for More” in 1984 and then a trilogy of videos for Whitesnake in 1987 which included “Still of the Night,” “Is This Love” and “Here I Go Again.”

Kitaen is survived by two daughters whom she had during her second marriage to MLB pitcher Chuck Finley, which lasted from 1997-2002. Her first marriage to Whitesnake frontman David Coverdale lasted from 1989-1991.
