Red Hot Chili Peppers appear to have dropped a tease of a new track, which would be their first since the return of guitarist John Frusciante.

The moody guitar instrumental was shared via the band’s social media channels and can be heard below. No caption accompanied the clip only adding to its mystery.

Talk of new music has been ongoing since Frusciante's official return to the Chili Peppers in December 2019. The last that was reported on a new LP came via drummer Chad Smith who said in an interview with Rolling Stone in October 2021 that RHCP was “almost done” recording their new album and added, “We’re getting along great. John’s been back for a while now, so it feels completely natural. … We’re really listening to each other in a new way…[John’s] so dedicated. He’s so into it. He’s working so hard. We’re all working hard, but he’s in there with all the overdubs and the magic that he brings.”
