An MGK Listener Brought The Who Show To A Halt Friday Night
A loyal listener of ours was quite the show-stopper at Friday night’s Who concert. Troy Tomczak brought along a large sign that read, “Pete, I will donate $500 to Teen Cancer America if you sign my album!”
His offer worked like a charm. Pete Townshend stopped the show twice and autographed his album (which Roger had previously signed) and even reportedly said, “My friend, if you donate $500, I will donate 1 million dollars.”
As it turns out, Troy donated in part because his wife of 37 years, Jennifer Tomczak, passed away just 2 months ago from a cancerous brain tumor. It’s hard to imagine a more emotional moment at a concert than this. Well done, Troy! Here’s a photo of the two of them when they first met Roger Daltrey…
