Metallica headlined night one of Lollapalooza last night (July 28) and was joined on stage by a special guest of sorts.

The metal icons closed out their set with “Master of Puppets,” which has received a major boost in popularity thanks to its inclusion in the season four finale of Stranger ThingsAs Metallica played the tune’s thundering intro, projected on the stage’s screens was Stranger Things character Eddie Munson performing the track along with the band. The sight got a big reaction from the crowd at Chicago’s Grant Park, where Lollapalooza is being held.

Joseph Quinn, the actor that plays Eddie Munson, said in a recent appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon of filming the “Master of Puppets” scene for Stranger Things, “It was kind of nerve-racking, but it was a weird point in the pandemic where no one had seen any live music for ages…I was nervous, but it was kind of like a rock concert, and I got to feel like a rock star for one night, and that was pretty great. That’s all I need.”
