Foo Fighters Joined by Rock Legends at Taylor Hawkins Tribute
The second Taylor Hawkins Tribute show will take place at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles on Tuesday. The Foo Fighters paid an emotional tribute to their late drummer on Sept. 3 at Wembley Stadium in London alongside an impressive list of some of their most influential contemporaries.
Travis Barker and Josh Freese of Blink 182, Lars Ulrich of Metallica, Chris Chaney of Jane’s Addiction, and Wolfgang Van Halen highlight the list performers returning for the second show. Nikki Six of Motley Crue, Joe Elliott and Phil Collen of Def Leppard, and Chad Smith of the Red Hot Chili Peppers will join the eye-popping list of performers in LA.
While the Wembley Stadium show included appearances by British legends like Paul McCartney and Queen, the LA show will have a bigger female influence with additions like Joan Jett, Alanis Morissette, and Miley Cyrus.

Taylor Hawkins died tragically at the age of 50 on March 25, 2022. His widow Alison Hawkins released an emotional letter as a thank you for the outpouring of support from Foo Fighters fans and giants of the rock industry. Their 16-year-old son Shane also performed as guest drummer for the band with a heartfelt performance of “My Hero” that instantly became a highlight of the Wembley Stadium show.
WMGK commemorated the career of Hawkins after his passing when some of the jocks discussed their preferences for “The Pretender” and “Learn to Fly,” two of the Foo Fighters’ most iconic songs.
Nina Corcoran of Pitchfork captured the heart of the Wembley performance earlier this month appropriately , saying “Tribute concerts are a delicate thing. In theory, they’re simple to organize: wrangle together a few people close to the loved one lost and have them perform in their honor. In reality, they can unfurl in a melodramatic, rote, and unfortunately depressing manner.”
Fans should prepare for a performance that celebrates the life of Taylor Hawkins while also stirring emotions in incredible ways.
