A Very Special Phillies Hat Designed by a Good Friend
The Philadelphia Phillies are back in the World Series and the city of Philadelphia is buzzing with enthusiasm!
They take on the Houston Astros in a best-of-seven series, and game one starts tonight at 8:03 p.m. down in Houston at Minute Maid Park.
It is nearly impossible to go anywhere these days in the greater Philly area and not see someone wearing some Phillies gear. Whether it be at work, picking up food somewhere, or just walking your dog, you are sure to see fellow Philadelphia sports fanatics sporting some gear.
I, myself, have one piece of Phillies merchandise, in particular, that is super cool!
And that is my Phillies hat designed by my good friend and producer at WMGK’s sister station, the one and only, Pancake!
The hat was released in a limited amount and I was fortunate enough to grab one.
It is a maroon cap in honor of the old-school Phillies uniforms and features a giant pennant across the front celebrating the 1980 world-champion Phillies.
That team was the first-ever World Series winner in franchise history! The other is the legendary 2008 squad.
Fingers crossed that we get another championship this year!
I was wearing the hat this past Monday while doing the public addressing at the Sixers game when they defeated the Indiana Pacers by a score of 120-106. So you could say it is good luck so far!
It just so happens that another Philly sports team also on the verge of a championship was represented that night with Philadelphia Union goalkeeper, Andre Blake, being the guest bell ringer!
It is a very special time for our sports teams around here!
Here’s to many more wins and hopefully a couple of championships coming this city’s way very soon!
