When you think of things this world needs where do temporary vasectomies fall on your list? This answer probably varies by age group. Men 16-20 something years old would probably say "uh, hell yea it's important science that we should put ahead of all societal needs." Late 30-40 year old men probably pass, and everyone older either doesn't need one or already had one. Leave it to Australia to solve our problem... and technically all vasectomies can be temporary anyway. A vasectomy is a reversible procedure, even if years have past since the snip.

So this group of scientists/researchers posted on social media asking if anyone would be interested in volunteering for this study. Turns out this was absolutely something the world needed because they got hundreds of volunteers and had to close submissions.

The procedure in the study is a simple injection of a gel directly into the vas deferens (what they snip in a vasectomy). The gel is supposed to act as an inner junk blockade for 2 years. There must be some side effects to this right? Something they're trying to hide. Like how they try to hide side effects in commercials by sort of whispering them quickly at the end: could cause itcy kneecaps and irritability, your hands might fall off, some people who took this developed gout and a 2nd butt. Well, they're saying the procedure is very safe, and the the biggest risk is that it might not work. That it might not work?! That sounds like the biggest risk ever. "Thank you for volunteering in our study, so this gel might work for 2 years, and if it doesn't you won't die, you'll just become a new dad. So, congrats in advance?"

Gout and growing a 2nd butt might sound like a better side effect for the guys who entered a study to not have kids.
