The World Cup is upon us. Every 4 years (8 if you’re the US Men’s team) when the World Cup comes around, I become a hardcore US soccer fan. I bust out my soccer scarves that I was gifted of teams I don’t even root for. I step my cursing game up to match the English soccer fans who are just on a whole ‘nother level when it comes to swearing. Hell, I’ll sit and watch Senegal vs Tunisia just because it’s the World Cup. A week ago, I couldn’t point out those 2 countries on a map, but I now I’ve allotted 90 minutes of my day to watch these teams!

Its been 8 years since we got to see the US Men’s team in the World Cup, which to be honest is kind of a disgrace. I don’t expect them to win, but you’re the United States of America’s soccer team at least get a seat at the table. The excitement around the country was palpable in 2014. People were taking off from work. Kids and adults were being let out of school and work early to go party and watch the team play their games. There is always the chance that the team doesn’t get out of the group stage (1st round), but if they do the energy in this country will be pretty amazing.  Can Santa Jon Hamm bring us a Christmas Miracle of a US Men’s World Cup win? No, but lets enjoy what we get!

Middle of Football season + Thanksgiving + Thanksgiving Football + Thanksgiving Futbol + Christmas Decorations + the World Cup. I mean come on what a great next month this is going to be!
