St. Patrick's Day is several months away, but you don't want to wait until that holiday to enjoy a great Irish pub in Pennsylvania. After all, Pennsylvania has so many great Irish pubs, you couldn't hit them all on St. Patrick's Day, so you might as well enjoy them year-round.

Now, one bar is being called the best Irish pub in Pennsylvania. Eat This, Not That put together a nationwide list ranking the best Irish pubs in every state. "There's not much better than cozying up in a proper Irish pub with a pint of Guinness or Irish coffee on a chilly day," they state in the article. "The best Irish pubs offer a civilized noise level, show local sports (but aren't sports bars), serve a nice bit of pub food, and are the kind of place you could take your parents or meet your friend—or meet new friends—on a Saturday night."

They added, "A tall order, yes, but we've applied these standards to our exhaustive search for the best Irish pub in every state. We scoured reviews, talked to locals, and looked back on our travels around the country to put together a definitive list of our favorite Irish pub in every state. Slánte!"

So, what's tops in our state? Mullaney's Harp & Fiddle in Pittsburgh. "This quaint pub is where Pittsburgh's St. Pat's day festivities kick-off, and in this bustling pub you'll find an ample whiskey selection and top-notch pub grub," Eat This, Not That wrote. As for close by states, in New Jersey, The Shannon Rose in Ramsey was the No. 1 pick, and in New York, it's Donovan's Pub in Queens. Find the full list of the best Irish pubs in America here.

Pennsylvania has some beautiful areas, and as it turns out, some of those areas feel a lot like Europe. Many Americans have never been to Europe, but the folks who have are letting the world know which Pennsylvania – and American – areas feel like they’re straight out of Europe. If you've never been to countries such as France, Germany and Italy, then perhaps visiting these American cities will be the next closest thing. Not to mention, traveling to an American town is going to be much more affordable than venturing overseas.

The publication TravelandLeisure.com has released a special list of American towns that feel the most like Europe. They mention that traveling to these areas, of course, is less pricey than getting on a plane and jetting overseas. They also note that during the pandemic, many people were looking for their European fix in America, since travel was prohibited. Thankfully, "plenty of cities sprinkled across the U.S. that will make any tourist feel like they've hopped aboard a transatlantic flight for a very European vacation."

So, what are some characteristics of a European town? For starters, they often have cobblestone streets, lots of history and an Old World feel. European towns can be very romantic, too, so this list of American towns that mirror European ones could be a good list for someone planning a special romantic getaway. So, which Pennsylvania city actually made cut to be considered one of America's most European in feel and spirit? Read on to find out.
