Sixers Take On a Steph Curry-less Warriors Tonight
Tonight, the Philadelphia 76ers take on the visiting Golden State Warriors, who are the defending NBA Finals champions, in a nationally televised game tipping off at 7:30 p.m. at the Wells Fargo Center.
Sixers superstar center, Joel Embiid, looks to continue his hot streak as the big man has been scorching hot recently, having multiple 50-plus point games in the past few weeks.
The Warriors themselves are going to have to look for someone else to step up as their superstar and team leader, Steph Curry, is out indefinitely after injuring his shoulder during the team’s last game on Wednesday versus the Indiana Pacers.
Curry is out indefinitely, which is a shame for multiple reasons.
The first is that he is easily one of the most electric players to watch in all of the NBA as he literally changed the way the game is played with his three-point shooting ability.
The second reason is that this is the only trip the Warriors make to Philadelphia this year, so all of the Sixers fans that wanted to see him play in person this year miss out on their opportunity.
I know, personally, my niece, Lily, was looking forward to watching the all-time great play against her favorite team!
I am hoping he is at least in the building supporting his team on the bench!
A few years back, on March 2nd, 2019, the Warriors made their yearly trip to Broad Street and I was just doing my normal pregame introductions routine on the sideline, and apparently, Curry was loving it!
A video clip of it actually went viral!
Curry can be seen sitting on the scorer’s table, nodding his head as a sign that he was loving what I was doing!
After I was done, he came over to shake my hand and then pumped his fist in excitement!
It was such a cool moment and something I’ll always remember!
Looking back, maybe I got him a little bit too excited for the game that night as he went on to score 28 points as the Warriors defeated the Sixers.
Oh, well.
You win some, you lose some!
Hopefully, the outcome is a little different tonight, and the Sixers leave the building with a win!
Get well soon, Steph!
