Pigskin Picks – Super Wildcard Weekend Edition
Mr. 2-1 has returned from his Christmas break disaster! Just in time to have to make 5 picks (the Giants/Vikings game was given as the listener pick). It’s Super Wildcard Weekend in the NFL. 2 game Saturday, 3 Sunday and 1 Monday night. Playoff football! I’m feeling good about these picks, so naturally I expect that we’ll end the weekend in the losers gutter. Pigskin Picks brought to you by the all-new Bet Parx Casino & Sportsbook App. New users get your first bet risk free up to $750. Go to Bet Parx.com. Must be 21. Gambling problem, call 1800 Gambler.
Last Week’s Record: 2-1. Overall Record: 19-15.
Seattle @ San Fran (SF -9 ½)
Not as strong a rivalry as it used to be when the Legion of Boom was roaming the secondary in Seattle, but it’s still divisional opponents playing each other in the playoffs. Seattle made it a game in week 15 and I think they’ll keep the score within shouting distance once again. Seattle covers 9 ½.
Pick – Seattle
Chargers @ Jags (LAC –2 ½)
Vegas not giving much love a 10 win Chargers team. That’s fine, I’m also not completely confident in this pick either. I love Doug Pederson and he’s got a young, feisty Jacksonville team riding high, but the high of making the playoffs with a week 18 win may be the end for them. This is a revenge game for LA after getting smoked 38-10 week 3. Chargers cover the 2 ½.
Pick – Chargers
Dolphins @ Bills (BUF -13 ½)
A different Dolphins team heads to Buffalo than the last time these teams played. Tua Tagovailoa has already been ruled out due to a lingering concussion and they’ve announced rookie Skylar Thompson is preparing to start. Doesn’t matter who plays QB in this one Buffalo rolls and covers the 13 ½.
Pick – Bills
Ravens @ Bengals (CIN -8 ½)
Lamar Jackson is not playing. Tyler Huntley gets a back to back start against the Bengals. Which means Joe Cool and the Bengals blow doors off the Ravens. Bengals cover the 8 ½.
Pick – Bengals
Dallas @ Tampa Bay (DAL -2 ½)
On paper, these are two offenses that should absolutely put on a show. In reality, Tom Brady looks old, and Dak Prescott can’t stop throwing interceptions. That’s too bad, ya just hate to see it! Even with all Dak’s interceptions, Dallas’ offense is strong enough to cover the 2 ½. Give me the Cowboys to cover.
Pick – Cowboys
**I’m not counting this as one of my picks because it’s the game we gave to the listener, but Giants at Vikings (-3). I think the Giants will win this game. Kirk Cousins in a game that is the only game on TV when they play, making it basically a prime time game, and we all know how that goes for him. Prime time Kirk Cousins BLOWS! **
