Sylvester Stallone attends the Photocall for the Paramount+ TV series "Tulsa King" at Hotel De La Ville on September 13, 2022 in Rome, Italy.

Sylvester Stallone wants to pick up the paintbrush once more. The Rocky star revealed on Instagram over the weekend that it’s “about time to start painting again.”

Stallone, 76, gushed about his love of painting in the caption alongside a carousel of vibrant, abstract works he composed. “What is wonderful about painting, it’s similar to writing a short screenplay, but instead of words, you use strokes and colors to tell your story,” Stallone shared with his 15.9 million followers.

It has been a few years since the Tulsa King star shared his artwork with fans, with the last time being in November of 2021. The actor shared an image of a rendition he made of the Rocky IV poster alongside a raving review. At the time, he humbly wrote, “the Rocky poster painting is just me having fun.”

The actor, who is known for playing strong male leads even presented a painting titled: “When Love Hurts” on Instagram in June of 2020. He wrote of the piece: “This painting represents the tumultuous sea of emotions one must navigate to find lasting love…”

Sly even has an art page on Instagram, though his last update was from January 2021. His artistic talents go way back, even before he became a legendary actor. He posted one of his paintings dating back to 1974 before he wrote the script for Rocky (1976) because he “wanted to have a mental image of him in my mind.” He added that “the eyes tell the story.”
