Matt Cord’s Broadcast From the Philadelphia Phillies Home Opener
This past Friday, I was able to broadcast live from the stadium complex down in South Philly prior to the home opener for the Philadelphia Phillies!
It was such a fun experience!
I did my show from the stage at Victory Beer Hall inside of Xfinity Live from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. leading right into the first pitch at 3 p.m. across the street at Citizens Bank Park.
It was a great atmosphere inside Victory Beer Hall, Xfinity Live as a whole, and even in the parking lots as fans were eagerly awaiting the return of the National League champions!
Not only was it an action-packed day for the Phillies with all the home opener pregame ceremonies, but it was also an action packed day on my show!
We had a ton of specially made t-shirts for the broadcast that we were giving out to fans that read, “Ring the Bell,” with the Victory Brewing Company logo as well.
And the fun did not stop there with Victory Brewing Company!
Fans in attendance could enjoy specials all broadcast long on their Brotherly Love Hazy IPA.
Not to mention, the best giveaway of them all…
One lucky person was fortunate enough to be entered for a chance to win Victory Beer for a year!
The giveaways were not the only fun part of the broadcast either.
I had a couple of special guests stop by for the show as well.
Ricky Botallico, Phillies alumni and current member of The Best Show Ever? on WMGK’s sister station, 97.5 The Fanatic, stopped by the show for a bit.
And the director of fun and games for the Phillies, John Brazer, also stopped by the broadcast, which is always fun!
It was such an awesome experience to be down there for this, and thank you to everyone who stopped by to enjoy the show!
Plus, I want to send a thank you to street team members, Bill and Gabby, and the on-site engineer, Rob Grusman!
Gabby actually rode the bull inside Xfinity Live a few times, which was awesome!
Overall, it was an amazing day that ended in a dramatic Phillies win!
