73 Chihuahuas Found Living in a Philadelphia Row Home

73 Chihuahuas were found in a Philadelphia row home. Another month, another Philly row home that animal control had to visit because people have ridiculous pets. In April animal control had to remove an alligator from the basement of a home (don’t worry it was caged with plywood and chicken wire, totally secure.) A month later a Philadelphia tried to out door the exotic pet with the sheer number of normal pets they had.
Police went to this house for reasons other than the dogs, but when they got there they could see an abundance of dogs in unhealthy conditions inside the home. They called animal control who then were shocked to find 73 chihuahuas inside the home. Their initial estimate of 40 continued to grow as they walked throughout the house.
Fox 29’s Steve Keely has a good run down and photos of what happened. Pennsylvania law only allows for 13 dogs in one home, and they must be spayed or neutered. This homeowner missed the mark by 61. My math is not off here, there were 73 Chihuahuas AND 1 Rottweiler. How did a neighbor not complain about the barking? 1 Chihuahua barking constantly is annoying, imagine being around 73. The city should send someone out to check the foundations of this home because 73 Chihuahuas shaking at the same time might measure on the Richter scale.
73 Chihuahuas in one home, or the equivalent of 1 full sized dog.

The 2023 John DeBella Dog Walk took place on Saturday, May 6th at Green Lane Park in Montgomery County.
Listeners of The John DeBella Show, and another familiar DJ on 102.9 MGK came out with their dogs for John’s favorite event of the year. This year even included a costume contest to give pet owners the chance to dress their dogs up. People from all over the DeBellaware Valley came with their pups to support the fun event.
There were tons of stands, demonstrations, activities, and yummy choices for food at the event. The weather also played nicely, so it was a great day all around. The sun was shining and the tails were wagging!
The DeBella Dog Walk’s main goal is to raise awareness for all of the hard work the shelters in our area put in to make sure pups get good homes. It was great to see people going home having adopted a dog at this event from one of the rescues that came. We’d especially like to thank all of you who came out because you helped us support the shelters and rescues around the DeBellaware Valley.
Overall, the DeBella Dog Walk was a huge success. You, the listeners, mean the world to us.
