Pigskin Picks NFL Divisional Round
Down to the top 8 teams in the NFL. We’ll get to see the two dominant teams atop the AFC and NFC back in action this weekend . Strong showing in the picks last weekend going 4-2 for the 6 games. I’ll try to keep rolling in the divisional round. As always Pigskin Picks is brought to you by Parx Casino and Sportsbook – this is how you win – must be 21 – gambling problem call 1-800-gambler.
Last Week’s Record: 4-2. Overall Record: 36-28
Houston Texans @ Baltimore Ravens BAL -9.5 (Saturday 4:40pm ESPN)
A fun one to start the Divisional round. A Texans offense that looked really good against the Browns defense heads to Baltimore to face an even better defense. Texans QB CJ Stroud is a stud, but Ravens QB Lamar Jackson is the MVP. The Texans strongest aspect of their offense is their passing game. The Ravens allow the fewest points per game of the remaining playoff defenses. If the offensive line can keep CJ Stroud clean then the Texans have a shot at keeping this game interesting. Their defense is good enough not to get blown out. Baltimore wins, but Houston keeps it within 10.
Pick – Texans
Green Bay Packers @ San Francisco 49ers SF -9.5 (Saturday 8:15pm FOX)
Saturday is full of young QBs. Green Bay is flying high right now, but waiting them is a monster. An 49ers offense that is dominant. A defense that is demoralizing opponents (except the Ravens.) Jordan Love is playing great right now, but the packers are a year or so ahead of where they should be with their young players. This might be close for a bit as the 49ers shake off the rust, but eventually they round into form sending a good young Packers team home.
Pick – 49ers
Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Detroit Lions DET -6.5 (Sunday 3pm NBC)
After the win last week it was as if the Lions won the Super Bowl. Originally I thought they would have a major hangover in this game. Not anymore. That city is ready to party. Dan Campbell and that Lions team are an easy to root for. I kind of hope the Packers and Lions win so we can get one more game at Ford Field during these playoffs. Todd Bowles defense could give Jared Goff some issues at times on blitzes, but in the end Jarred Goff in a dome is much better than Goff out of a dome. Lions roll.
Pick – Detroit
Kansas City Chiefs @ Buffalo Bills BUF -2.5 (Sunday 6:30pm CBS)
The best game of the weekend. We can only hope to get a game as good as the final few minutes a few years ago in Kansas City. For the first time in his career Patrick Mahomes has to go on the road in the playoffs. The cold won’t affect him since he did just pick up a win in -30 wind chills last week. The Bills mafia will be plenty lubed up, ready to toss some Billdos (best name) out of the stands when needed. That was possibly the funniest thing to happen in a nationally televised football game. I mentioned a few weeks ago how dangerous a team the Bills are. Give me the Bills covering the 2.5, and moving on to the AFC Championship. Finally getting over the Kansas City playoff hump.
Pick – Buffalo
