I Finally Got To Meet Kyle Lowry The Other Night
Well, after 27 years of calling games at Wells Fargo Center for the 76ers, a player finally flew onto the scorer’s table and ran into me during the game.
Kyle Lowry, our new addition to the team hustled after a loose ball late in the 3rd quarter. He launched himself over the scorer’s table and basically fell into my lap. It all happened so fast!
I saw the ball coming toward me and the next thing you know, Kyle Lowry, who turns 38 on March 25, hurled his 6’1 body right into me…and it hurt!
Kyle may be small by NBA standards but he is built like a fire hydrant! Tough and muscular.
As soon as it happened, Taryn Hatcher, our 76ers reporter from NBC Sports Philadelphia came over to interview me as the game was going on. Taryn is one of the best in the business.

Then, Alaa and Kate from NBC Sports Philadelphia showed the replay a bunch of times with many different angles and gave me praise for not missing a beat and holding onto the microphone.
BTW…I went to my knee doctor today, Dr. Nick DiNubile and I have a bad sprain on my right knee (where he landed at first). I’m awaiting the MRI results!
Thank goodness our next home game isn’t until next Wednesday vs. James Harden and The Clippers!
