The Great Betty Cord – Remembering My Mom
Last Saturday, my mom Betty passed away after a great life lived.
Betty lived a full life for 94 years and she never took a day for granted.
She honestly had a certain type of charisma that was truly infectious to anybody who was fortunate enough to spend some time around her during her life.
My Mom “Betty” Cord and Her Love For Family…
I always can’t mention my mom without bringing up her abundance of love for her family and extended family — and believe me when I tell you there’s a lot of us, and it spans over a few different generations.
It includes her four children — myself and my siblings — eleven grandkids, and nine more great-grandkids.
Betty really did love each and every one of us, and she also loved bragging about all of her kids and all of our achievements.
It really made you want to keep reaching new heights because you knew she would be proud.
Another thing my mom loved was having company over, or just chatting it up with old friends on the phone.
She was truly a people person.
One thing that always stuck out to me about Betty was that she was extremely competitive, and she was always game for any level of competition.
In fact, she had me place a bet on the Belmont Stakes just a week before she passed away, and she was so upset she didn’t hit her trifecta!
Much like my father, Jack, my mom was everything to her family, and words can’t even begin to describe that.
She passed away on June 15th, 2024, and she will truly be missed by many.
I thank her for all the love, life lessons, and the faith of good she instilled in me.
I want to say thank you to everyone who reached out whether that be via text, email, social media, or any other form of note — I really appreciate it.
All the love for my mom has been just beautiful.
I love you, Mom.
God bless you, and tell Dad I love you both!
