Pearl Jam’s 2024 Night One In Philly Was Incredible And One To Remember
Pearl Jam was back in the great city of Philadelphia over the weekend, and they did not disappoint.
I was fortunate to go to the first night of their multiple-show stop in Philly on Saturday, September 7th.
They are also playing tonight, September 9th, so if you’re going, enjoy!
Man, what an incredible show they put on this past Saturday.
They came on stage at 8:45 p.m. and didn’t leave the stage until 11:02 p.m., oh, and they played a fantastic 25-song setlist in between!
Of course, they played the hits, but they also played some rare album cuts like “Breath,” “Red Mosquito,” “Brain Of J,” “The Long Road,” and even “Chloe Dancer/Crown of Thorns.”
Here’s the entire setlist from the first Pearl Jam stop on this tour in Philly if you want to check it out!
The crowd was also incredible at this show as well — they were singing every song word for word, and it was so loud.
The crowd was truly spectacular.
And although the crowd was singing loudly along with Pearl Jam, there was one voice that truly stood above the rest, and, of course, that was Eddie Vedder.
Vedder’s voice was very strong, both literally and figuratively.
Pearl Jam Honors The Gaudreaus…
Vedder and the rest of the band took time to mention the tragic loss of both Johnny and Matt Gaudreau and honored the two local hockey heroes during the show.
Ed mentioned how his dear friend and hockey legend, Chris Chelios, told him that the loss of the Gaudreaus hurt even more because of the type of people they were.
After honoring the two brothers, Ed held their jerseys up after Pearl Jam performed “Given To Fly.”
It was so cool.
Oh, and I can’t forget to mention that I got to hang with my buddy Jeff Ament before the show, and even gave him some cool new Sixers swag!
Don’t look now, but the 76ers season is just around the corner!
Anyway, if you are heading to the show tonight, have a blast!
