Oasis Reunited and Matt Cord Remembers Hosting Their First Show In Philly Nearly 30 Years Ago
One of the best bands of all time to come out of the 90s is getting the band back together and reuniting, and, of course, I am talking about none other than Oasis!
After 15 long years without any new music or concerts from Oasis, today is the day that they are
gonna come back to you.
Well, actually they made the official announcement sometime last week, but that doesn’t stop the excitement from me and a whole lot more in the rock and roll community.
With the end of their 15-year hiatus as a band, it seems like the feud has also come to an end between brothers, Noel Gallagher and Liam Gallagher.
Many people thought they would never reunite, but that day is here, and hopefully, they don’t look back in anger at the last decade-plus away from Oasis.
They have already announced a few dates for some shows overseas, but hopefully, that extends over to a North American tour as well.
Remembering Some Times Seeing Oasis…
I am no stranger to seeing Oasis in concert.
In fact, the first time I saw them perform was actually the first time they ever played in Philly on October 23, 1994.
The show was at the legendary JC Dobbs, and it was actually a concert I hosted as part of Planet M on MMR.
Plus, they also came back a few months later for a show on March 8, 1995, at the TLA.
And here’s a great little trivia fact for you — Oasis was the first band to ever hold a concert at the Wells Fargo Center, known at the time as the CoreStates Center, on September 6, 1996.
Oh, and I can’t forget the time they performed as the Y-100 Feast along with Beck, The Foo Fighters, Moby, and Stroke 9.
After all those shows, I can say for sure that Oasis put on a great performance, so you’re not going to want to miss it when they return.
So to all the Oasis fans out there, you can stop crying your heart out because they are back — but knowing the Gallagher, it won’t live forever so enjoy it while it’s here!
