Introducing Some Great People At 97.5 The Fanatic Fan Fest
Last weekend, on Saturday, September 28, one of the biggest events in Philadelphia sports happened, and it included a lot of my friends — 97.5 The Fanatic Fan Fest.
Every year for over a decade at this point, our friends down the hall put on a great day to honor the station as a whole, but more importantly the great Philadelphia sports fans around the area.
I have been lucky enough to be asked to be a part of it six different times now, and it is always a blast to help out at 97.5 The Fanatic Fan Fest.
My Job at 97.5 The Fanatic Fan Fest…
Usually, when I am there, my duty for the day is being placed with the honor of introducing former and current 76ers who are featured that year at 97.5 The Fanatic Fan Fest.
In years past, some of those Sixers include Allen Iverson, Tyrese Maxey, Paul “B-Ball Paul” Reed, Ben Simmons, Lou Williams, and Tobias Harris.
And the latest Sixers player added to that list this year was none other than Andre Drummond.
Drummond got a loud ovation from the Philly faithful at 97.5 The Fanatic Fan Fest.
But my introductions this year did not stop at announcing the 76ers guest — I also introduced The Mike Missanelli Show with Bill Colarulo and the young Ray Dunne!
The crowd enjoyed that as well!
And my introductions didn’t stop there either.
I also got to announce another voice of the 76ers, who many fans of the Sixers and The Fanatic, know very well — the legend himself, the radio voice for the Sixers, Tom McGinnis.
Tom is a one-man show on the radio call for the Sixers and he is easily the best in the world at what he does behind a microphone.
He is actually entering his 30th season with the team, and we are so lucky to have someone like Tom as the radio voice for our basketball team.
Many in the hoops world consider him the best out there, and I am definitely one of them.
I even use his voice in my morning show introduction every morning at 6:10 a.m.
All in all, this year’s 97.5 The Fanatic was another success!
