The Rhythm and Hops Festival 2024 Was A Major Success
Over the weekend, I got to appear at an event that combines two of the better things in life — The Rhythm and Hops Festival.
I mean there are not too many things better than live music and beer, right?
So the fine folks who came up with the Rhythm and Hops Festival were definitely on to something, and, man, was it fun.
The Rhythm and Hops Festival presented by Broad Street Brewing took place this past Saturday at Sister Cities Park in the Logan Square section of the city.
For those familiar with the area, it was right across from the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul.
As we all know if you live in the Delaware Valley, Saturday could not have been a nicer day when it came to the weather.
It was a perfect day outside for some great live music from the likes of Drayton Farley, Dustin Douglas and The Electric Gentlemen, and my new pal, Mikey Junior — who can play the harmonica like no other!
I suggest, if you have time in the coming weeks, to catch Mikey Junior live at The Twisted Tail in Philly.
He will be playing a good amount of shows there and I promise you won’t leave disappointed.
If you’re familiar with the Headhouse Square area, you’ll be able to find The Twisted Tail no problem.
The Hops At the Rhythm and Hops Festival
Anyway, back to the Rhythm and Hops Festival!
Well, we’ve already covered the rhythm part of the festival, so let’s get to the hops!
The festival had over 20 local craft breweries on site for the festival-goers to try.
Some of my favorites include Broad Street Brewing and the Wissahickon Brewing Company.
And I must say, my favorite beer of the day was brewed by the Wissahickon Brewing Company.
Their Ember Spiced Pumpkin Ale was delicious — if you can try some, I highly suggest it!
Overall, the rhythm was great, the hops were great, and the Rhythm and Hops Festival was a complete success!
