One Shark from ABC's "Shark Tank" bit into a deal for a stake in South Jersey's Mad Mutz on Friday, April 18.
The owners of Mad Mutz mozzarella sticks of Atlantic City brought their business concept to "Shark Tank" during last Friday's broadcast of the popular program.
Two friends from Margate, Mike Hauke and Michael Burns, co-own the company, which produces the flavored mozzarella sticks in Atlantic City.
According to a 6abc News report, the competition was fierce, but in the end, Hauke and Burns lured in Shark Lori Greiner with a $150,000 offer for 20%.
Greiner shared the following comment on Instagram: "So excited to get the deal with my new partners @madmutz! Not only are these the BEST, most delicious, and interesting Mozzarella Sticks on the market (over 13 different flavors)!! But my new partners Mike & Mike are such great guys! I couldn't be happier. Check these out!! Madmutz.com"
According to Burns, Mad Mutz can create approximately 60,000 mozzarella sticks daily from its Atlantic City manufacturing and production facilities. Mad Mutz is already distributing the product through supermarkets and regional food distributors and shipping directly to consumers.
