New Hope Plans Star Wars Day Celebration for Sunday, May 4

The Greater New Hope Chamber of Commerce will present the second annual "May the 4th: New Hope Star Wars Day" celebration on Sunday, May 4, from noon to 4 p.m. in New Hope.
Meet familiar characters from "Star Wars" as they descend on downtown New Hope throughout the afternoon. These personalities will visit several New Hope businesses, including 4 the Love of Things, Ferry Market, Fran's Pub, GreenHouse New Hope, The Deck, V-Spot, and many others.
“This is our second year hosting Star Wars Day in New Hope, and it's such a cool and exciting event that brings our community together in a fun, unique way,” said Michael Sklar, president of the Greater New Hope Chamber of Commerce, in a news release shared with New Jersey Stage. “Seeing fans of all ages connect with these iconic characters and enjoy the creativity of our local businesses makes this day truly special.”
New Hope businesses will get into the spirit of the day with Star Wars-themed cocktails, events, items for sale, and specials. Below are some of the event's highlights:
- GreenHouse New Hope, 90 S. Main St., will feature a special Star Wars-themed drink, "Tatooine Sunrise, twin suns rise in every sip."
- Havana, 105 S. Main St., will offer a signature YodaRita cocktail for the day.
- Nozomu Sushi, 9 W. Mechanic St., will serve specialty Luke Skywalker and Yoda sushi rolls.
- Plant Haus, 127 S. Main St., Suite D, will hold a “Galaxy Paint & Pot” event from 10:30 a.m. to noon. Participants will create a "far, far away" galaxy-themed plant pot. Tickets include a planter, art supplies, and guided instruction. Tickets are available for purchase online for $39 each.
